Our Vision for Laminin Place
Where Faith Meets Compassionate Living
Discover the spaces we’re envisioning. From family homes to assisted living, from a community church to job training centers, each facility is designed to support individuals with intellectual disabilities and their families at every stage of life. These conceptual plans show what we’re working together to build.
Building Laminin Place
An Intentional Christian Community Project in Development for People with Intellectual Disabilities
A place where individuals with intellectual disabilities and their families can live, learn, work, worship, and thrive together.
Ways We Plan to Support Our Community
We want Laminin Place to be accessible and empowering for everyone. While we know it will take time achieve our goals, our long term vision is to remove as many barriers as we can. These are some of our ideas:
Fund Subidized Housing
Financial assistance would be available for capable adults seeking independent living.
Provide Assisted Living Support
Our endowment fund would help those with limited resources afford quality care.
Offer Free Recreation Access
All residents would enjoy complimentary access to our Recreational Building and Community Center.
Include Job Training and Development
We would like to incorporate hands-on training at a Retail Center along and throughout the community to prepare adults for meaningful employment.
The Heart of Our Community
Laminin Place offers a complete range of living options and community spaces designed for aging in place. From independent homes to assisted living, worship to work—every facility supports individuals with developmental disabilities and their families at every stage of life.
Conceptual Neighborhood Community Church
A welcoming place of worship where all residents can gather to celebrate faith together. This church would reflect God’s vision of unity and love, with open doors for local congregations to collaborate and share in ministry. It’s envisioned as a spiritual home where everyone—regardless of ability—is valued, known, and embraced as part of God’s family.

Conceptual Neighborhood Retail Center
Imagine a welcoming retail space where residents can gain real-world job skills while serving the community. Through partnerships with corporate sponsors, this center would provide hands-on training and pre-employment education, with any proceeds supporting The Laminin Group’s mission. It’s a place where learning, working, and growing happen side by side.
Conceptual Neighborhood Office Complex
This multi-purpose hub would bring together essential services under one roof—from early childhood development and educational programs to medical care and administrative offices. It’s envisioned as a place where residents can access the support they need close to home, with opportunities for community members to participate in daily operations and learn valuable skills along the way.
Conceptual Neighborhood Assisted Living Facility
Designed for residents who need more support as they age or require specialized care, this facility would offer a compassionate home where independence is honored and dignity preserved. Managed independently but aligned with Laminin Place’s values, it would provide training and volunteer opportunities for the broader community while ensuring our most vulnerable residents receive excellent care in a familiar, loving environment.
Conceptual Neighborhood Apartments
These one, two, and three-bedroom apartments would provide comfortable homes for families and independent adults who want to be part of our community. With options for subsidized housing to support lower-income residents, these apartments envision a diverse, inclusive neighborhood where everyone has a place to call home and neighbors genuinely care for one another.
Conceptual Two Family Condominium
Picture side-by-side homes where families can own their structure while being part of something bigger. Residents would lease the land with access to shared green spaces, and maintenance handled by the community association. For those who choose to gift their property to the Laminin Endowment Fund, lease fees would be waived—creating a legacy of care that extends beyond their lifetime.
Conceptual Single Family Housing
These standalone homes would welcome families with developmentally disabled children who want the space and privacy of their own house while benefiting from an inclusive, supportive community. It’s a place where families don’t have to navigate challenges alone—where neighbors understand, schools are nearby, and friendship is built into the fabric of daily life.
Conceptual Neighborhood Recreational Building and Community Center
This would be the heart of community life—a gathering place for social activities, physical fitness, and therapeutic programs designed with developmental needs in mind. Families from outside Laminin Place could also join as members, creating connections and understanding that ripple beyond our borders. It’s where friendships form, skills develop, and everyone belongs.
Conceptual Residential Day Work Programs
These vocational training programs would offer hands-on learning in areas like gardening, ceramics, and other crafts—both on campus and in the wider community. It’s about discovering gifts, building confidence, and creating pathways to meaningful work. Every resident would have the chance to contribute, learn, and take pride in what they create.
